Smartphone Homescreen Builder is an application for Windows that can be really useful if you want to create your own themes for Windows Mobile Today screen.

When you run the program and start a new project you'll be able to customize the Today screen and set it as you want. Reorder objects, remove the ones you don't use and place the most used ones in a better place.

Choose if you'll create a totally new Today screen or if you want to modify one. Change the background, the theme color, font color and style. Change the place for the e-mail notifications, SMS notifications and missed calls...

However, I think that the best thing of Smartphone Homescreen Builder is that it doesn't require any kind of previous knowledge to use it, because the interface is very intuitive and you'll be able to create your own Today screen even if you are a novice. It's easy: choose the target resolution (240x320, 320x240, 240x240), choose plugins, draging them into position with your mouse, set the properties for each plugin, set a background image, set the colour scheme and finally build the cab file. Of course, you'll get better results when you'll get used to it.

The output templates will be saved as XML files and you'll be able to create the CAB installation file to transfer them to the PDA and install the theme just tapping them.
